• What expenses can the grant cover?

The $3,000 grant can be used to cover artist fees, transportation, production costs, cinematographers, production companies, and accommodation.

• Can I apply without submitting samples or previous work?

No, applications without samples or previous work will not be accepted.

• Will I receive confirmation that my application has been submitted?

Yes, once you submit your application, you will receive a confirmation notification indicating that your submission has been received.

• Can I save my application and complete it later?

Unfortunately, no. We recommend preparing your responses externally and completing the application form once all required information is ready and verified.

• Can artistic groups apply for the production grant?

Yes, the grant is open to both individuals and artistic groups working in performing arts and movement, as well as directors and filmmakers whose projects incorporate performing artists, dancers, and movement specialists.

• Does the festival support previously produced works?

  The festival does not provide financial support for pre-produced works. However, selected works will be screened at multiple venues and streamed on various networks

• Can I apply for a grant to support an ongoing project?

The grant is intended for projects that begin production after the grant selection results are announced. However, if you are working on a project that aligns with the festival's theme and will be completed before the final submission deadline, you can apply under the category of previously produced films.

• How is the selection process conducted?

Once the submission period closes, all applications are reviewed to ensure they meet eligibility requirements and include all necessary documents.
Eligible applications are then evaluated by an independent three-member jury based on the following criteria:

• Relevance of the project

• Quality of the proposal

• Originality and innovation

• Feasibility of the project within the given timeframe
  

• Will all applicants be informed of the results?

Yes, all applicants will be notified of the results, regardless of whether they are selected for the grant.

• If I am awarded the grant, when can I start working on my project, and when is the final submission due?

You may start working on your project immediately after the grant is awarded and contracts are signed. The final film must be submitted by October 5, 2025.

• If I have additional funding sources, do I need to disclose them to Stereo 48?

Yes. If your project receives additional funding, you must inform us about the supporting organizations and the nature of their contribution so they can be acknowledged and credited in the festival’s publications.

• Who owns the rights to the final production? Can I release my film immediately after completion?

The applicant retains full ownership of their production. However, as per the contract, the film’s premiere must take place at the Palestinian Movement Film Festival in November 2025. After the festival, the creator is free to distribute and screen the film independently.

• Can I submit my application without a finalized project title?

Yes, you may provide a working title and change it later if needed.

• What is meant by "cinematic treatment"?

A cinematic treatment is a description (maximum 500 words) explaining how the film will be visually presented. It should cover aspects such as camera movement, set design, costumes, color schemes, and overall aesthetic vision, helping the jury understand your visual approach.

• Can I submit more than one project under the same name?

No, applicants may only submit one project per cycle.

• Can a cultural institution apply on behalf of artists?

No, only individual artists or artistic groups may apply. Institutions cannot submit applications on behalf of artists.
